Business Central at the Dynamics Changes Event

Business Central at the Dynamics Changes Event

Dynamics Consultant have over 300 years of combined experience with Microsoft Dynamics 365 Business Central, and its predecessor Microsoft Dynamics NAV (formerly Navision). In our new quarterly webinar, Dynamics Changes, we talk about latest updates, new features, the history of the product and integrations. We also look at the business software landscape, with new tools such as Artificial Intelligence and automation becoming part of real business processes.

Business Central at the Dynamics Changes Event

The Dynamics Changes event a success!

Well, we got there eventually! Twice this year, the Dynamics Changes event was booked for a venue on the outskirts of Southampton, but with all that is going on we couldn’t get everyone in a room together! So, we have moved our event to a regular online webinar.

Teams Live Stream

The event was held on a Microsoft Teams live stream event, which worked extremely well. This allowed seamless broadcasting whilst guests could type questions in the Q&A. It was also recorded so we can share the event with you!

Business Central and More

Business Central is what we are known for, but as a company that partners with businesses to provide a fully integrated business software solution, our event is more than just knowing what is in the software. We provided a wide range of topics.

A review of 2020

Our illustrious leader, Tom Jenkins, looked at the year to date. With a tumultuous 2020, our customers have had varying fortunes. We have used the time and any spare capacity to make sure we upskill our team, and have embraced all of the latest technologies, such as AI.

The journey of NAV to Business Central

In this session, our commercial manager, Stuart Hardman, discussed the history of Dynamics NAV, formerly Navision, and how Microsoft have been preparing the product for a more web-based platform. With the move to Business Central, not only was the product moved online, but there was a big shift in the way the product is formed and subsequently developed. Stuart explains the new way of developing with extensions and apps and how this will change the mindset of development and upgrades.

Business Central integration with M365

Microsoft’s investment in cloud-based technologies means that the full range of business applications are increasingly integrated. In this session, we see four different scenarios in which Microsoft Dynamics 365 Business Central integrates with Microsoft 365 (formerly Office 365).

Export (and import) to Excel

Make changes to large quantities of Business Central data by exporting to Excel. Simply use the edit in Excel function from Business Central, opening up the data in Excel. From here you can make any changes and save them back to Dynamics.

Business Central in Outlook

The integration of Outlook with Business Central utilises text recognition and intelligence to help you to save time with sending and receiving quotes and orders. Recognising what a customer emails to you, it is easy to create and send documents right from your email, with Business Central data to hand.

Artificial Intelligence in Business Central

In-built Artificial Intelligence (AI) tools such as Inventory Forecasting use AI modelling and data from around your system to provide you with actionable insights to make fast and informed decisions.

Business Central in Teams

View Business Central records in Microsoft Teams with the new integration. With Business Central being web based, share the address of a record in a post or chat within Teams and get all of the information you need to hand from Microsoft’s world leading collaboration tool.

Doing More with the Microsoft Power Platform

Find out what the Microsoft Power Platform is, including Power BI, Power Apps, Power Automate (Flow), Power Virtual Agents, AI Builder and a wide range of app connectors. But the Power Platform, built upon the Common Data Service, is a toolkit. What problems will you solve with your toolkit?

Partnering with DC

Partnering with Dynamics Consultants is more than just buying an ERP solution; we work with companies to help them manage their whole business with modern, integrated software solutions. This includes Microsoft 365, a range of e-Commerce solutions, hosting and the whole Dynamics 365 stack of products.

We also make sure that we provide excellent service, from our customer reward scheme, customer feedback and our upcoming customer portal.
